These Cute Cartoon Characters are Now Totally Horrifying
Every so often we come across something truly horrifying, like this series of illustrations from the twisted mind of artist Disse86. Seriously, we’re talking twisted like a pretzel. No, twisted like a factory full of pretzels all tangled together. He has taken beloved cartoon characters like Winnie the Pooh, Shrek and others, and turned them into horrible nightmares.
Welcome to the nightmare that is his art. Seriously, some of these are hard to look at. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. I personally have never seen a Minion with teeth like that before. Or a Pikachu that wants to eat you whole.
They’re gross, but it’s kind of amazing how hellish he has made these normally cute characters. If you are into these, you can watch these paintings being created on Disse86’s YouTube channel.

R2-D2 Minion Cake: Despicable Droid
This R2-D2 Minion cake mashes up Star Wars and Despicable Me in the cutest way possible. Sadly, we don’t know who made this great cake, but I’m going to blame Jawas. Jawas who spend all day baking in their sandcrawler and selling their goods to moisture farmers.
This Minion cake has R2-D2’s arms and body, but the head is that of a yellow Minion with gray goggles. R2 actually makes a pretty cute minion and I bet he was pretty tasty too. He has a lot of cool details. Although he would definitely be far more annoying than the R2 we know and love from the movies.

This Security Camera Looks Like a Darth Vader Minion
If this security camera looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s designed to look like a Minion version of the Sith Lord. It was designed by Hyeonseok Kim, a Korean design student, and it looks pretty cool.
It’s only a concept design, but apparently you’re supposed to be able link several of these together and place them throughout your home, but you just know that isn’t going to end well. Everywhere you go you will hear that minion laughter, and they will be acting so goofy that you will never get anything done.
I don’t even care how well it works. I just want one to display, because it amuses me.

Awesome Despicable Me PC Casemod: Assemble the Minion!
As computers become smaller, thinner and more mobile, casemodding seems to be a dying art. That’s too bad. I was hoping that more people trick out their smartphones, tablets and AIO PCs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case (pun intended.)
That said, some hardcore gamers, CGI and video professionals are still using tower PCs. And if I still had a workstation computer in my office, I’d want it to look like this.
This awesome case looks just like one of the Minions from Despicable Me. I think his name was Kevin, or maybe it’s Carl. I can’t keep all their names straight. Either way, this computer was built by Ronnie Hara, and is powerful enough to run the latest and greatest games with all the settings maxed out. It’s probably powerful enough to operate a secret evil supervillain’s lair too.
Also, it’s the only computer I know of that wears overalls. Oh, that reminds me of a joke… Q)What goes with overalls? A) A banjo and no women.

Spock Minion Amigurumi: Highly Logical
Crochet. The final frontier… Do you like the logical side of Spock, but also want him to have a softer side? Well, this Spock/Minion amigurumi is the perfect new member of your crew if you have a spot open on your bridge.
Is it Spock looking like a minion or a minion looking like Spock? I have no idea. I just know that he is adorable. This cute little Vulcan hybrid comes from Etsy artist Kutuleras and you can get him for just about $31(USD) from their Etsy shop.
He is 12.5 inches tall and the glasses are even removable. Now you can have a Vulcan/Minion aboard your starship for the first time in the Federation’s history.
While you’re over there, be sure to check out their Captain Picard minion. Make it so!
Despicable Bricks: Teen Builds 24,000 Brick LEGO Minion
You might remember Evan Bacon from such LEGO masterpieces as his Superman, Batman and Iron Man. Now he has set his sights on the Minions from the Despicable Me movies.
Evan made this awesome model all by himself. No help from Minions here. All together it has about 24,000 bricks and weighs about 120 pounds. It was built live at the Rooster Teeth convention in Austin, TX and is a tribute to Despicable Me 2.
I’ll tell you what’s not despicable. This guy’s talent. Now that he has a Minion, who knows what he can accomplish. OneMminion always leads to another. And another. And another. Soon Evan will be building armies of cool LEGO creations with their help.
Despicable Me Cosplay: Minions in Disguise
Everyone loves the Minions from Despicable Me. They will soften even the hardest of hearts. That must be why they are getting their own movie in 2014. To satisfy your craving for cute minions in the meantime, check out this fun collection of art featuring the Minions cosplaying other movie characters.
Aren’t you a little short to be a Stormtrooper? He’s looking a bit rotund there too. How about a minion as Gotham’s Guardian? Na Na Na Na Na… Batmin!
This is my favorite. The Joker minion.
Though the Daft Minions are pretty cool too…
Minion cosplay is the best kind of cosplay. Is it wrong that I want all of these as action figures? Head on over to Guyism to check out a bunch more dressed up minions.

Crocheted Minions: Despicable Amigurumi
For me, Despicable Me was a unexpectedly entertaining animated film. Perhaps it was because of Steve Carrell’s hilarious performance as Gru, or maybe it was his Raving Rabbids-esque army of minions. Either way, you won’t be able to resist this collection of amigurumi minions.
This set of nine minions was handmade by crochet artist Komang Darmiani, and they’re just waiting to be placed on your desk for family, friends or co-workers to ogle and grope. Each one is made from acrylic yarn and measures just under 3″ tall.
The full set will set you back $99.90(USD) – or just over $11 a minion – not too bad for your own highly-obedient cubicle army, I say.
