We usually think of scaffolding as only being used in vertical construction zones, however, designers Bumjin Kim & Minyoung Kim’s Red Dot Award winning Urban Platform project has something different in mind.
Located in Lisbon, Portugal, this Red Dot Award winning structure’s aim is to provide usable public space for the community without obstructing views of the city or the surrounding architecture. Composed of five modules, it’s also easily reassembled to adapt to different needs and functions. It’s not particularly beautiful but it’s also inoffensive. From a distance, it’s practically invisible!
