The Jackfish Survival Card Holder Looks Like A Serious Survivalist’s Tool

Look, we see all kinds of multi-tools and survival kits on OhGizmo. But the Jackfish Survival Credit Card Holder stands out from the bunch. It’s an 8.5mm which case that not only holds a bunch of really cool tools, it’s got room for up to 4 credit cards, so you can use it as a wallet. The idea is that it contains useful equipment to help you in everyday tasks, as well as some survival equipment that could potentially push the odds back in your favour should you ever be in such a situation. Here’s the list:

Everyday Tools
1. Micro screwdriver flat head 0.8mm tip (ideal for glasses)
2. Titanium coated Pozi drive standard hex bit (hex slot on side of jackfish)
3. Titanium coated flat head standard hex bit (5mm width)
4. Kingston micro SD card reader (no sd card supplied) carry copies of documents
5. True Utility Telescopic Pen (opens to 118mm in length, 3 refills included) + cap

Survival Tools
1. Aluminium Whistle (120 Decibel)
2. Glass Vial (10 drops of liquid – for shipping we will send empty – No iodine!)
3. Windproof match (burn for 5 seconds in the harshest of wind, includes striker)
4. Firesteel 4.5mm wide (light a fire when everything else is wet)
5. Spyderco Bug Knife (amazing quality and very sharp – 3Cr13MoV stainless steel)
6. Liquid filled button compass (15mm diameter)

It looks like some quality craftsmanship, and serious attention to detail and usability. At a £69 ($104USD) pledge, it’s completely reasonable too. Expect an April 2016 shipment on this, since the campaign is fully funded.

Tactical Credit Card AX Fits An Axe In Your Wallet

If you’re McGuyver, surviving involves finding a pack of gum, a paperclip and a match head. Most other people, however, would requires some semblance of tools, and the Tactical Credit Card AX is as cool as they come. It’s a flat piece of metal that can fit in a wallet, and yet can be attached to a piece of wood and turned into a makeshift axe. Stamped from 304, 12 gauge stainless steel, the item also features up to 21 separate functions, which makes it into a multi-tool as well. It may not be able to cut down a large tree, but it’ll make the task of collecting twigs for an impromptu fire a little easier. It’s $30.

Pinch! Titanium Multitool Is About As Small As They Get

Chalk this one up to efficient minimalism, but we can’t remember the last time we came across a multitool that crammed this many functions in as little a package. The Pinch! Titanium Multitool is able to do 11 different things, yet measures 1.5”x 0.5”, which is small enough to be carried around everywhere. Functions include: wire stripper, bottle opener, mining pry bar, and more. The image below lists them all. A $19 pledge will get you an Early Bird Pinch!, with the price going up to $22 if you’re late to the party.

Weatherman’s Multi-tool Bracelet Looks Awesome, Is Of Dubious Use

We like manly men accessories as much as the next guy. So we won’t lie and gladly admit we’re attracted by the Leatherman Tread, a bracelet that doubles as 25 different tools.

It’s an ingenious design. The bracelet is fully customizable and can be re-built with slotted fasteners. The user can rearrange links, add or remove tools, or just adjust the bracelet’s size for comfort down to one quarter of an inch. Even the clasp is functional, with a bottle opener and #2 square drive. Other tools include hex drives, screwdrivers, box wrenches, a carbide glass breaker, and a hook-style box cutter that doubles as a SIM card pick.

The issue we have, however, is that we can’t find too many realistic real-life use scenarios, especially with tools this small… A carbide glass cutter? That’s cool, but do you really see yourself effectively hitting a car window with a slightly protruding bit of metal?

Maybe… But to be honest, we’re just skeptical of its actual use, yet we’re willing to be wrong. Or maybe we just want to be wrong since this thing is such a looker. If paying between $150 to $200 for an accessory that appears to value form over function doesn’t bother you, know that the Leatherman Tread will be available this summer.
