Aerial Grand Prix!

Today marks a big day for drone tech. Amazon, the e-retail giant, conducted its first successful drone delivery today, giving one lucky customer their consignment completely via a drone. Drones, no matter how much you love or hate them, have come a long way in the past decade, and If you were to ask me what the coming decade would look like, I’d give you a simple answer. Drone NASCAR. Or NASDAR?

nepdesign seems to share that very outlook, and have given us a taste of the drone racing world with their Racing Drone concept. Designed with a sort of 360° streamlined shape, these drones are about looking badass, and slicing through the air with absolute speed. In fact, to make them do that with greater efficiency, nepdesign has even visualized a carbon fiber variant. Although how would you make a racetrack for something that flies in the air?? Hmmm…

You won’t see a crazier looking drone.

Over the past week, a certain type of drone was all over social media. A foldable drone that would open and close like a book. It boasted of a camera too. Well, the Sphere Drone by nepdesign is the big-daddy of that drone. Overwhelmingly pretty, it takes on a more organic shape, giving the drone a sort of alien-ish vibe.

It has an upward facing camera, a downward facing camera, and a series of cameras all around the side. Can it BE more awesome!?

The Audi of hoverboards

So, I covered the drone obsession in one of my previous posts. Now to focus on another one of the world’s biggest gadget obsessions. Hoverboards. Most hoverboards look fascinating only because of the technology behind it. They seldom ‘look’ beautiful. I guess we could say the same about any gadget. There’s always a time when design takes over to make a product look like it redefines standards of beauty in its category. The Axi2 is that design intervention in the hoverboard market.

Designed with fluidity in mind, the Axi2 looks beautifully organic, and therefore conveys a certain sense of aerodynamism, while giving the vehicle a premium touch. Much like the luxury car makers of today!
