Pizza Hut + Ogilvy designed a limited edition pizza-box with a foosball table built into the lid!

It seems like Pizza Hut and Ogilvy want you to ‘play with your food’, or at least want you to play with the packaging of your food. The two brands collaborated over the launch of a new limited-edition pizza box that comes with an actual foosball table built right into the lid!

The Foosball Pizza Box was created as a warm-up for the Europa League which begins October 22nd (Get it, Warm-up? Pizza?). Wendy Leung, marketing director of Pizza Hut explains, ‘the Pizza Hut Foosball Pizza Box was a great opportunity to remind football fans that pizza goes best with their football. Launched at a time when everyone’s stuck in their houses, the box hopes to drum up enthusiasm, interest, and positivity. While diehard fans are just waiting to go out and support their teams or play their own games of street football, the Pizza Hut Foosball Pizza Box provides a great safe alternative, allowing you to battle it out with your friends in the comfort and safety of your own homes. Winner gets an extra slice, perhaps? And if there’s a tie, just equally divide the pie!

The Foosball Pizza Box is currently only available to pizza-enthusiasts in Hong Kong (although enough enthusiasm could push the companies to roll it out worldwide)… you can shoot your shot at winning your own Foosball Pizza Box by visiting the Pizza Hut app, or leaving a clever comment on Pizza Hut Hong Kong’s Facebook page.

IKEA x Pizza Hut create a special pizza for the real pizza saver tables!

Have you ever wondered why do they place a little table in the center of the pizza? It’s to keep the cheese from sticking to the box but it is a very realistic mini table and I think it would be nice to have some chairs around it. I was clearly not the only one planning a house for Jerry (of the Tom and Jerry fame) because looks like someone at IKEA had the same thought and the iconic pizza table is a REAL THING now (I want it!) that is selling like hot cakes….or hot slices at this point!

We all love this table but we didn’t know we needed it until Ogilvy at Hong Kong rolled out a campaign that invited people like you and me to go into an IKEA store and buy a SÄVA table. Yes, our beloved cheese-protecting table is called the SÄVA and it is the life-size version of the three-legged plastic table on our pizzas. The table comes flat-packed in a pizza box which is really a full-circle (get it?) moment. Also, IKEA has put an end to our assembly woes with this table, it seems to be one of the easiest pieces of furniture to put together. Since IKEA took an element of Pizza Hut, it gave the food company a chance to make pizzas with their famous meatballs and I call that a very fair trade deal! It is truly the best of both worlds – the IKEA meatballs on a Pizz Hut pizza being eaten on the SÄVA table. That scene is mere art and someone has to paint it for the golden times of the Italian-Swedish-American era.

IKEA is no stranger to doing viral collaborations, its one of the reasons for their success because they go after what people think of and make it happen. Let’s continue thinking, IKEA and something from Taco Bell, I am sure they are listening just like they did for my pizza table.

Literally catch them ‘red’ handed

More than 300 incidents of bag-snatching are reported in just the capital city of Malaysia per month. That number is truly alarming. Aside from loss of property, women are often launched off their feet when their bag is pulled by a motorist, sometimes resulting in grave injuries, sometimes in death.

Malaysian women’s sportswear brand Ash Be Nimble, seeing the opportunity, designed a device that can be triggered to explode and douse the offender in ink, making them easy to spot by law enforcement. Called the Handbag Dyetonator, the small accessory attaches itself to the strap of the bag. When snatched, the owner can trigger it remotely via SMS (using a unique code from any phone), causing it to spew smoke like an SOS flare, while also covering the thief in a colored ink. What’s more, the bag comes with a GPS tracker that allows you to stay aware of its whereabouts. Just follow the GPS and look for the culprit covered in ink-stains!

The Handbag Dyetonator isn’t for sale just yet, but the website is accepting registrations for women willing to participate as beta-testers for its trial edition.

Never thought I’d say this but Victorinox, you’ve been outdone. The Columbia Survival tool kit just blows my mind. Made more for outdoor survival than urban, the kit literally outdoes itself. All you need is a stack of these specially redesigned jacket labels by Columbia clothing and you have everything from a wood carving kit, to a sewing kit, to even a sundial! Moreover, there’s even a label to purify water, and to make coffee!! Way to add value something as seemingly insignificant as a jacket label! I bet you’re just as mind-warped as I am!
