Theoretically a “cool” chair

ventilation_chair_1

Made from ventilation/cooling pipes, the Tubular Armchair by Lucas Munoz may theoretically be the coolest chair ever. Designed as a part of his collection ‘Objects From Interstitial Space’, Munoz hopes to bring the background to the foreground, by using materials and elements that usually are hidden from sight behind drywalls or above false ceilings, and play more of a functional role than an aesthetic one. In their new avatar, these objects that are normally hidden from visible architecture suddenly become show-stealers.

Using steel piping and elbow joints, Munoz created the curvaceous body of the chair, before using a copper panel that he shaped by hand for the seat. The entire seat is held together using aluminum rivets that help retain the raw feel of what is in fact, a beautiful, finished product!

Starting today, it will be a lot harder to vape if you’re under 18

In May, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced plans to regulate e-cigarettes like it does regular tobacco products. Today, those changes go into effect. First, the new regulations make it illegal to sell e-cigarettes and other vaping suppl...

Mario and Bowser Live Beneath This Guy’s Kitchen Sink

Check out this custom Super Mario Bros. themed plumbing job from gamer Troy Goho. It sits beneath his kitchen sink, and features Bowser and Mario standing on drain pipes that have been painted green to look like the warp pipes from the Mushroom Kingdom.

Pretty cool. I bet one of those pipes leads to a secret level, but that’s not a level you want to explore. It’s full of old hair and toothpaste and stuff. If I were Mario, I would send Luigi to that place. He gets all the crap jobs. I think that all home piping should be Mario themed, so that 1up mushrooms pop out of the sink and toilet.

Frozen Pipes: How to Cope with Them

This winter is the worst in two decades. The last time such extremes of frost occurred it was the year 1994. And with the snowy blizzards and cold and cruel howling winds come many nuisances. A major...

Super Mario Pipe Coffee Mug

mario pipe mug plant Super Mario Pipe Coffee Mug
Power up your morning with this Super Mario style Pipe Coffee Mug. Made of high-impact ceramic, it’s dishwasher and microwave safe and holds 14 ounces. If you’re not drinking coffee, you can jump in and warp yourself to the hidden underground level under your desk where you stomp on turtles and power jump. Oops, you’re dreaming again, maybe you should fill up your cup with some coffee to wake up. It can also hold solids- like pens, or piranha plants:

Although I don’t believe that’s an actual piranha plant, more like a standard houseplant. But you never know, don’t get too close. Comes with a coaster too.

Super Mario Bros. Pipe Lamp

How cool is this industrial design looking Super Mario Bros. Lamp? Created by T Rowe Designs, this $189 lamp features a Mario pull chain switch (also available in Luigi, Toad, or Yoshi). Just pull on Mario to turn the foot tall light on or off. The light bulb itself is encased in a vintage glass insulator. The switch and wiring run through a black iron pipe and it sits on a wooden base. That’s some real modern industrial geek chic right there. (via dudeiwantthat)
