Japanese TV shows that inspired ‘Power Rangers’ are coming to YouTube

Many millennials grew up watching Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and the similar shows that followed in its popularity, but they most likely have never seen the source material from Japan that was used to create the action-heavy battle scenes. TOEI --...

Power Rangers GX-72 Daizyujin Megazord Figures Assemble Into One Big Robot

I was too old to watch Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers when they hit TV back in the day, but my brother watched it all the time. Power Rangers could assemble into a bunch of combinations from what I understand, with the characters able to turn into a giant robot in some forms. If you’re a fan of the series, check out this cool Daizyujin GX-72 Megazord figure from Bandai Tamashii Nations.

It’s not cheap at $299.99(USD), but it includes all the little Zords that connect together to make one big Megazord robot. They are made out of metal too so when you play with them, they are less likely to break.

You can preorder the GX-72 Megazord soul of Chogokin diecast action figure from Entertainment Earth for shipment in June 2017. These giant robot characters always reminded me of Voltron.

Go Go Power Rangers Vinyl Action Figures!

I’m glad to say that my kids were too young when the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were popular to want to watch the show. I have seen only a few episodes, and it must be the cheesiest show ever made. I know there are a lot of fans out there, and if you are one of them, you will want these action figures.

There are ten different vinyl action figures that are articulated and have removable helmets. The action figures are 3″ tall and were designed by Joe Allard. The catch is that these things are blind-boxed. That means you can’t choose which one you want and you get what you get.

If you order five, you could get five of the same exact one. At $13.99(USD) each at ThinkGeek, it’s a costly risk if you want a specific action figure, but they are pretty cool. I really like Goldar – the blue dog thing in the gold armor.

Famous Chunkies: From Hero to Many Zeroes

To raise awareness about unhealthy eating, illustrator Alex Solis started Famous Chunkies. It’s a series of caricatures of superheroes, villains and other popular characters that illustrate what they would be like if they were fat.

I’d totally be down with becoming chunky Ryu if it meant I could conjure burgers. Eat your vegetables and head to Alex’s website to see more Famous Chunkies. You can also follow him on Twitter to find out when he has new chunkified characters to share.

Power Ranger Onesies for Your Mighty, Morphin Poopin’ Machines

Go, go, Power Rangers!

The theme song would play at full volume every time my sisters and I got home from school. We made a deal with our mom then that we’d do our homework every night and eat all the vegetables on our plates if she let us watch the show when school let out. I don’t watch the show anymore and don’t even follow it now, but I still have fond memories of that part of my childhood.

Power Ranger Onesies for Your Little Power Ranger

Power Ranger OnesiesRemember the good old days when you’d sing to theme of Power Rangers as the live action program began on television? The show has evolved over the years (it went back on air last February with Power Rangers Megaforce.) It’s got a lot more competition on the small screen but if you grew up with the crew, then there’ll always be that spot that nothing else can replace.

Start your child on the path of righteousness early by dressing them up in these adorable Power Rangers onesies! They might not grow up to love the show as much as you did, but you can always teach them a thing or two about what the Rangers stand for while they’re in their Ranger garb.

Available in blue, green, black, yellow, red, and pink. Where’s the onesie for the White Ranger?

Chroma Squad: Assemble Your Own Superhero Team… TV Show

Super Sentai shows like Bioman, Fiveman and of course the American adaptation Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers were a staple of my childhood. If you’re like me and you’ve always dreamed of assembling your own team of live-action superheroes, Chroma Squad might be the game for you. Sort of.

chroma squad by behold studios

Chroma Squad is an upcoming game for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android (Sorry Windows Phone!). It’s currently being developed by Behold Studios, the developer behind Knights of Pen & Paper. If you played KoP&P, Chroma Squad’s premise and gameplay won’t surprise you: it’s a game about a group of stuntmen who decided to strike out on their own and make a TV studio. You’ll then help the stuntmen buy props, shoot TV episodes – including the neverending battles – and influence the show’s storyline, all to achieve your ultimate goal: to save Earth to attract audiences.

Put your costume on, swing your arms wildly in the air while nodding vigorously then finally punch the air and summon your MegaBrowserZord. Pledge at least $15 (USD) on Kickstarter to earn a desktop version of Chroma Squad as a reward.
