Microhaus has been constructed using 3D-printed structural components and arrives move-in ready with a kitchenette, double bed, bathroom, and plenty of storage. “The Microhaus also comes with our fully integrated Cloud Self-Diagnosis System, which provides a new generation of Smart Home amenities, full remote control, and machine learning,” explains Haus.me CEO, Max Gerbut.




The Microhaus measures 120 square feet and can be fully assembled within a few minutes! The composite structure is supremely durable, its yacht-inspired exterior is made from fiberglass, stainless steel, and teak. It has a modern, futuristic yet overall minimal aesthetic.

 

It is one of the most advanced micro-apartments in the world and to complement its high-tech capabilities, the tiny, portable dwelling has a sleek exterior and interior. The exterior is composed of rounded fiberglass and stainless steel whereas the interior is layered with warm wooden details and illuminated by natural light.




“The unit comes with an array of high-tech features, including a motorized door, touchless access, touchless faucets, adaptive lights, and air-quality sensors” adds Gerbut.




Not only is it mobile and flexible, it is also energy efficient and has low operating costs. The durable unit is made from eco-friendly materials that are safe for both people and the environment.

Mirohaus’ interior has a sun-kissed vibe thanks to its extensive glazing and large windows. It features white custom cabinetry contrasts with the natural wood elements found throughout the space.

Löyly is a prefabricated floating sauna that can accommodate up to three people and comes with a built-in wood stove for summer afternoons spent seaside and basking in the heat.

In recent years, our fascination for microarchitecture has soared. Our own backyards are now home to tiny offices and prefabricated leisure cabins. Across the world, public parks and urban spaces are seeing more and more miniature communal structures crop up that are designed to be WiFi hotspots and charging hubs. Bringing microarchitecture to the seaside, product and spatial designer Trolle Rudebeck Haar designed Löyly, a prefabricated floating sauna.

Built from Swiss wood, Löyly keeps an organic, unstained look and an overall clean and angled shape. The floating sauna features a shed roof that slopes up in one direction to create some headroom when standing. The roof seems to be formed from corrugated polycarbonate and the side paneling comes from a material similar to reeded glass film for a translucent look that also provides some privacy from the outside. Inside Löyly, a small bench allows seating for up to two to three people and the translucent window panes offer up-close views of the surrounding water and Swiss Alps in the distance. Besides the small bench, Trolle Rudebeck Haar incorporated a wood stove by MORZH, a wooden stove and sauna designer.

Microarchitecture hosts an array of practical purposes that encourage tiny, sustainable living and consolidate home comforts to span a smaller carbon footprint. Then, some microarchitecture designs remind us what fun tiny clubhouses can be. Löyly, the floating sauna in Copenhagen, is always accessible by swimming up to its sliding doors and using the pull-down steel ladder for entry aboard the pontoon to give you a fun afternoon spent seaside and basking in the heat.

The modern world is overwhelmed with what feels like countless crises‒climate change, human displacement, and global pandemics begins a list that barely scrapes the surface. Architects and designers alike have been taking notice and utilizing their learned disciplines to provide relief. Entering the conversation around structural relief projects, Hariri & Hariri, a New York-based architecture firm founded by Iranian sisters Gisue and Mojgan Hariri, debuted their own solution: a prefabricated folding pod or cabin that doesn’t require hands-on assembly or the need for hardware or tools.

Modeled after the intricate paper folding art of Origami, the pod’s initial folded form can fit onto flatbed trucks for efficient and manageable shipping. Once positioned for assembly, the pod from Hariri & Hariri readily expands and unfolds to create a prefabricated and modular, single-story housing unit. Born out of a need for emergency shelter across the globe, the architects behind the pod note, “In the middle of a hurricane you don’t have time for a screwdriver.” With this in mind, the pod was designed to instantaneously unfold and build itself with the push of a button. Structured like a pop-up cardboard box, hinges and hidden panels strewn across the pod’s creases aid in the unit’s assembly process. Whether multiple emergency shelters are needed or if the pod is used as a luxury single home unit for a beachside vacation, the modular construction allows the pod to either be configured together with multiple pods to form community shelters or stand alone as a single prefabricated unit.

Hariri & Hariri developed the pod into one that leans on an affordable, transportable, and efficient design by giving it a lightweight and thin exterior build. Constructed with accessible building materials like glass and Equitone panels, the pod can be acquired and utilized by most countries across the globe in need of emergency shelters. The prefabricated pod boasts simple and speedy assembly and transportation processes, making it an ideal modular unit for any event from beachside couple retreats to crowded music events or even extreme emergencies that call for immediate shelter units.

When situated in clusters, the pod from Hariri & Hariri can create community-wide shelters in the case of emergencies.

Alternatively, the pod can make for the perfect beachside getaway, with an open-air layout and expansive windows.

Working from home has forced many of us to rethink our workspaces. While some of us are dying to be back in the office, the rest of us are looking forward to a future home office renovation. Either way, the era of COVID-19 has brought forth some creative home office solutions that might outlast any future mandate. Adding their prefabricated home office design to mix, My Home Office is a standalone workspace situated anywhere with a paved surface for remote, isolated working.

Initially, My Home Office was designed and created by Cosmas Bronsgeest to have a workspace stationed in his family’s yard that could remain a place where he could retreat for quiet and concentration amidst all the chaos of COVID-19 stay-at-home orders. The all-season prefab office is clad with FSC-certified larch wood and stands fully insulated with an RC value of 5.4. As currently designed, My Home Office features one larger model that comes equipped with everything from a fold-out bed to a sit-and-stand desk and a smaller model that comes complete with a fixed desk and outdoor lamp.

From the outside, the cabin’s natural look warms up the yard, and the fully glazed windows offer a peek of what’s inside. The sharp triangular frame borders floor-to-ceiling windows that merge the surrounding yard with the office’s working space for a workday spent close to nature. Inside, owners can work at the unit’s fixed desk, or choose to tack on an additional working desk, fold-out bed, or even a shower and toilet attachment. Depending on your own needs, each unit can be customized as the owner sees fit.

In most cases, due to the prefabricated office’s small size, owners will not need a permit for placement in their yard. Built with a plug-and-play design, once My Home Office is anchored to the ground, owners can power up the cabin by plugging in the supplied power adapter through the cabin’s wall-mounted 240V, weatherproof IP44 socket. And just like that, a new home office awaits.

Prefabricated cabins and tiny homes have taken last year and the start of 2021 by storm. It seemed like nobody could say they hadn’t found their dream tiny home after digging through rabbit holes of options. It makes sense. Tiny homes provide a quiet space for you to live out your dream mobile lifestyle, off-the-grid and if anything, these times have shown that you might as well take advantage of the options available. One last layout allows residents to make optimal use of the space provided by Model 240, keeping bulky gym equipment out of the bedroom.
