PUMA Teams Up With A$AP Rocky to debut the Dragon-inspired 3D-Printed Mostro Shoe

They say your fashion choices are a reflection of your inner self. If that’s true, these shoes easily help channel your inner beast. Designed as a collaboration between rapper A$AP Rocky and PUMA, the Mostro 3.D is the latest in the partnership between the two. Not just your average shoe, the Mostro 3.D redefines the conventional, pushing the boundaries of design with a ferocity that commands attention. Drawing inspiration from the synergy of music, art, and technology, this collaboration elevates sneaker culture to new heights. Forget traditional aesthetics; this is all about unleashing the unexpected. With its red and black colorway, and the fiesty, scaly design achieved by 3D printing, the Mostro tries to grab eyeballs in ways that high fashion usually does – by being so audaciously different that you’re sure to make a statement.

Designers: A$AP Rocky & PUMA

Central to the Mostro 3.D’s allure is its groundbreaking use of 3D printing technology. Crafted through an advanced resin-based process, the shoe boasts a level of intricacy previously unattainable with conventional methods. This innovation translates into an arrestingly detailed silhouette, replete with audacious spikes that echo a futuristic, almost otherworldly presence. The sleek slip-on design serves not just as a convenience but as an aesthetic declaration of defiance against the norm. The gradient of black and red, achieved through a meticulous airbrush technique, becomes a dynamic canvas, capturing the essence of movement and transformation. Here, technology and artistry coexist in a harmonious dance, each pushing the other to create something truly transformative.

A$AP Rocky brings his raw, urban edge, infusing the project with an authenticity that resonates deeply with the streets. Conversely, PUMA’s legacy of innovation and its embrace of modern technology find a perfect playground in these shoes. It’s a meeting of rebellious spirit and technical prowess, culminating in footwear that’s as much about narrative as it is about aesthetics. Together, they craft more than a product—they create a voice that speaks to a new generation of fashion-forward thinkers. This is where music’s pulse meets the precision of advanced technology, resulting in an offering that truly transcends the ordinary.

The Mostro 3.D’s spiky, audacious design powerfully mirrors the trail Kanye West blazed with his Yeezy line, where footwear feels more like a wild artifact than a mere shoe. Channeling an almost primal vibe, these kicks tap into a non-human aesthetic that’s as captivating as it is rebellious. Imagine a creature from the Cambrian era, its unique form resurrected through cutting-edge 3D printing technology. Both A$AP Rocky and PUMA have seized this evolutionary inspiration, crafting a shoe that seems to pulse with life—a piece of wearable art that feels plucked from an ancient world, yet firmly planted in the future. This is more than just a nod to Yeezy’s avant-garde essence; it’s an evolution, inviting you to embrace a style that’s fiercely instinctual and utterly groundbreaking.

The Mostro 3.D captures a zeitgeist where fashion is not just about appearance but about identity and the courage to stand apart. These shoes are not just worn; they are unleashed—an anthem for those unafraid to make a statement. By challenging conventional means of design and production, A$AP Rocky and PUMA give us not only a glimpse into the future of footwear but also an invitation to take part in it. With the Mostro 3.D, the boundary between fashion and innovation blurs, offering us a tantalizing vision of what’s to come. Welcome to a new era of design where the only limit is imagination.

50 Years of the Porsche 911 Turbo: A Legacy in Motion with Porsche x Puma Collaboration

The Porsche 911 Turbo has defined automotive design and performance for fifty years. To celebrate this milestone, Porsche has introduced a special edition 911 Turbo, limited to 1,974 units, as a tribute to the year the car debuted. Alongside this, Porsche Lifestyle Group has collaborated with Puma to create a limited sneaker collection inspired by the 911 Turbo’s legacy. Both releases embody Porsche’s ability to evolve while staying connected to its heritage.

Designer: Porsche x Puma

The 911 Turbo: Celebrating Five Decades of Excellence

The 50th-anniversary Porsche 911 Turbo powerfully reflects Porsche’s engineering and design legacy. Built on the 911 Turbo S platform, this edition merges modern technology innovations with design cues from the original 1974 model. The limited run of 1,974 units underscores the significance of this special edition, making it a highly sought-after piece for collectors.

For Porsche enthusiasts, the connection to this iconic car runs deep. Personally, the Porsche 911 Turbo holds a special meaning, as it shares the same birth year. Much like finding a birth-year Rolex, owning a car from the same era ties you to a pivotal time in history. The introduction of the 911 Turbo in 1974 was a landmark moment for Porsche, revolutionizing sports car design and performance.

This special edition retains the spirit of the original Type 930 while introducing contemporary touches. Porsche’s new Turbonite color graces the rear engine cover, fuel tank cap, and Porsche crest, offering a nod to the past while embracing a modern aesthetic. Anthracite Grey accents on the rear wing blade, mirror bases, and air intakes add a subtle connection to the original, maintaining the balance between heritage and innovation.

Inside, the use of McKenzie tartan fabric on the seats and door panels evokes the interior styling of the original Turbo. This subtle but effective tribute allows the anniversary model to capture the charm of the past while integrating the sophistication of today’s Porsche design language. The optional Heritage Design Package further strengthens this connection with Aventurine Green Metallic paint and retro-inspired graphics, giving the car an added touch of nostalgia.

On the performance front, the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition lives up to its name. Equipped with a 3.7-liter twin-turbo engine, it delivers 650 horsepower and 800 Newton meters of torque, reaching 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.7 seconds. Porsche’s Active Suspension Management system and all-wheel drive ensure an agile, controlled driving experience that upholds the brand’s reputation for precision and power.

Porsche x Puma Sneaker Collaboration: A Design Link

In addition to the anniversary car, Porsche Lifestyle Group teamed up with Puma to create a series of limited-edition sneakers that capture the spirit of the 911 Turbo. Each sneaker model pays tribute to a key aspect of the Turbo’s design legacy, offering Porsche fans another way to engage with the brand’s heritage.

The “Turbo No. 1” and “Turbo 930” sneakers are two highlights from the collection. The “Turbo No. 1” in Metallic Silver is inspired by the Porsche given to Louise Piëch for her 70th birthday, while the “Turbo 930” in Oak Green Metallic references Dr. Ferry Porsche’s personal Turbo from 1976. Inside both sneakers, the tartan interiors reflect the fabric used in their respective cars, showcasing the attention to detail that Porsche is known for.

Limited to 911 pairs each, these sneakers reflect Porsche’s tradition of exclusivity. Design elements such as vintage turbo lettering on the side and a 3D Porsche crest on the heel tie the shoes directly to the brand’s automotive roots. The heel section even mimics the whale tail spoiler from the original 930 Turbo, further linking the footwear to one of Porsche’s most recognizable design features.

The sneaker collection’s color schemes draw heavily from Porsche’s past. The “Turbo USA” edition, finished in Olive Green with black and red accents, is a nod to the original 930 color palette. These design elements connect the automotive and sneaker worlds seamlessly, blending Porsche’s visual identity with modern streetwear.

Every pair of sneakers in the collection comes with an additional set of laces and a Porsche-branded sports bag, adding to the exclusivity of the release. Whether worn or collected, these sneakers offer a tangible link to Porsche’s legacy, much like the anniversary edition 911 Turbo itself.

A Legacy That Lasts

The Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years edition and the Porsche x Puma sneaker collection highlight Porsche’s ability to honor its rich heritage while pushing forward with contemporary design. These releases offer Porsche enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to engage with the brand’s history in new and meaningful ways.

As Porsche delivers the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition and the sneakers, those who value Porsche’s history will have a chance to own a piece of this legacy. Whether behind the wheel of the anniversary model or stepping into a pair of Turbo-inspired sneakers, these releases bring Porsche’s history into the present.

These limited-edition offerings are lasting reminders of Porsche’s journey through automotive design and performance. They offer a chance to carry a piece of that legacy forward, be it on the road or through a carefully crafted collection.

Porsche enlists Puma for 2 limited edition sneakers in time to celebrate their 75th anniversary

Luxury cars and sneakers don’t necessarily go hand in hand. But since there are a lot of pretty expensive pairs of kicks out there that owners of also expensive cars will probably want to own, a partnership between brands from both industries is not unheard of. The latest collaborators are German automobile manufacturer Porsche and fellow German footwear and apparel brand Puma. They have come up with a couple of limited edition sneakers to commemorate the largest gathering of Porsche enthusiasts and the anniversary of the iconic Porsche 911.

Designers: Porsche and Puma

Rennsport Reunion is a famous gathering of Porsche fans, collectors, and drivers and to commemorate the 7th year this is happening, they will be releasing a special pair of sneakers. The Rennsport Reunion 7 – Mirage Sport Tech is designed specifically for this event and the attendees. The trainers have the event’s branding on the tongue, insole, and even the shoe box. There is also a checkered flag and finish line design on the heels and the pair has red and blue accent colors. It will be available in classic black or pristine white colors.

To celebrate the 60th year of the Porsche 911 car, two limited edition sneakers will be available for those who want to own a rare pair of fashionable Porsche-inspired footwear. The Retro Sneaker, as its name implies, is inspired by the 1972 Porsche 911 S 2 5, with a light blue color and red contrast stitching. It has the starter number 56 on its heel. The individual numbering and the Porsche lettering is on the leather flap on the side. The second model is called the Heritage Sneaker and is based on the Porsche 911 S/T model. It has a gray color to match the anniversary car’s color while its lining is cognac-brown colored, inspired by the interior. It has the number 63 on its heel while the individual numbering is on the underside of the tongue together with the 60 years of Porsche 911 logo. Both sneakers come with red laces on the left shoe and black laces for the other.

The Rennsport Reunion 7 – Mirage Sport Tech is now available at the Porsche Design Online Store and Porsche Design Stores for $150. The Porsche Heritage and Retro Sneakers will be available online starting September 6 and are priced at $160. There will only be 1,972 Retro Sneakers available (for the 1972 Porsche birth year) while there will only be 1,963 pairs for the Heritage Sneakers as tribute to the first generation of the Porsche 911.

Puma is recruiting beta testers for its self-lacing sneakers

When Engadget took an exclusive look at the Puma Fi self-lacing shoes earlier this year, the company teased an upcoming beta program for those who want to try their luck. Well, the time has come. Between now and April 28th, you can apply for the Puma...

Puma’s self-lacing sneakers come with a touch-sensitive control panel

Puma’s FI (Fit Intelligence) sneakers are here, and they look slightly different. Where you’d expect the laces to criss-cross on the front sits a grey block. Inside it lies Puma’s self-lacing tech. A motor that operates the laces, and a control panel on the top that lets you slide upwards to tighten and downwards to loosen the footwear.

“PUMA was the first to craft a laceless sports shoe with Velcro™ straps in 1968, the first to put a computer inside a shoe in 1986 and the first to introduce a wirelessly connected adaptive fit shoe called AutoDisc in 2016. Ever since, we’ve worked tirelessly on improving the functionality, the user interface and the durability of the shoe. The result: a technology that is smarter, lighter and more commercial.”

Following the trend first set by Nike (after they made their version of the self-lacing sneakers from Back To The Future), Puma’s FI are perhaps a more evolved, more acceptable form of the technology. The shoe comes with a breathable upper that allows it to be worn in most active scenarios, and an industrial grade fiber replaces the laces, wrapping around the sides of the shoe, tightening it effectively.

The FI’s all set to launch as early as 2020, and will come with an app that lets you remotely tighten or loosen the shoe. We’ve got our reservations on the idea of an app that controls your shoe, but the self-lacing shoe itself could be exceptionally useful for specially-abled users or even children!

Puma wants to let you try its new Fi self-lacing shoes
