The single-person-operated stretcher promises faster rescue times

The Just One is fundamentally simple. A cross between a stretcher and a wheelchair, it allows patients to be taken from one place to another not by two, but by just one person. The stretcher’s horizontal design gets ditched for something that’s more like a recliner, and the patient gets strapped in place too. Carried around like a hand-pulled rickshaw, a medical assistant pulls the stretcher from the front, with wheels at the back replacing the need to have a second human carrier. The patient lies in place, bound by harnesses, and can easily be transported to medical zones with just one assistant. That being said, the Just One stretched comes with handles at both ends, allowing it to be used as a conventional stretcher too!

The Just One Stretcher is a winner of the Red Dot Design Concept Award for the year 2018.

A Smart Twist on the Lid

You look at some products and you know that they were designed keeping bachelors in mind! We’re the kind to not buy doormats, or change our bed-sheets, or even use trivets with hot utensils, so this utensil decided to provide us with one.

Rather than have us purchase and use an extra trivet, the Smart Cover turns into one so you can use it during and after cooking! This innovative lid shape-shifts in two simple steps. Just press the metal button on the cover and rotate the handle 90 degrees. It will transform into a cross shaped arrangement so it can support the warm pot and protect your table surface.

B’lock’buster Design!

I get these mixed feelings when I see brilliant design. I’m awed by it but at the same time, I’m jealous for not thinking of something similar before. That’s the beauty of Bicycle Guardians, it’s simple, it’s brilliant, and it has this thing I call the “Aha moment”, which is what you feel when you see a design that adrenalizes your brain. Bicycle Guardians is a brilliant way to lock your bike without having to invest in a separate, obtrusive locking device. P.S. How ugly are those godawful bike chains!

The Bicycle Guardians reinvents the humble little bike pedal by making it the very device that locks your bike. Without changing the appearance of the pedal at all, designer Qi Qiu adds a brilliant value to that little chunk of plastic under our feet that we take for granted. The Pedal’s outer form revolves on an axis, allowing it to swivel inwards and lock on the bike frame, making it impossible to pedal the bike in the first place. A keyhole is probably the only visual change that’s brought to the pedal, which allows you to lock or unlock the pedal’s ‘U’ shaped lock-piece. Isn’t it just the most elegant, and unsuspectingly awesome design solution you’ve seen?

The Growing Bed

The Growth Crib is one ingenious design that embodies sustainability and innovation. It features a construction where the base of the bed can expand and keep ‘growing’ as the baby grows. Once the baby outgrows the safety rails, you can remove and use them as a trendy rack. So many constructive elements within it, no wonder it was a 2012 IDEA Awards winner!

Spaced Out Connection

The Fold Socket is a power strip that can accommodate different configurations of plugs and place them with ease. The biggest upside is its clever design, the inter socket spaces and expandability feature. The scientific design is convenient and makes the whole setup quite portable. Would love to give it a try.
