Samsung revealed the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at Barcelona’s MWC, and although the phone looked great, a key detail was left out: the price. The Internet started speculating about it right away, and many numbers were touted, but it is only now that we can get the official word by Samsung themselves.
Samsung did reveal the price for Europe at the MWC, and it seems Europe is going to get all three variants (32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB) of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on April 10 starting at EUR 699 for the S6 Edge and EUR 849 for the Edge variant, at least in the Netherlands. Seemingly, the Edge 128 GB could go up to EUR 1,049. That is very pricey, especially when you compare with the Americas.
In the US, carriers will be selling the Galaxy S6 at $199 and the Galaxy S6 Edge and $299, way below the European counterparts. The official confirmations should come on April 10, but we are already shocked that Europeans might be getting the phone at 3 times the price.
