If James Bond Were a Gardener
These would be his tools of choice! The first is a sleek, modern twist on the garden tool that actually combines the 3 most common shovel types in one simple, space-saving unit. The shovel, rake and trowel nest together when you’re not using them. The second item in the set is a watering can with an entirely new shape. It’s modeled after modern water bottles for familiarity. Its spill-proof spout is integrated into the ring cap which is designed to make it easy to carry. Compact, convenient and easy-to-clean, the collection is ideal for urban gardeners living in compact spaces!

The Back-saving Shovel
Shovel designs have addressed the handles in different forms but the design of the blade itself has never been reconsidered. The Stealth Shovel, named for its geometric and sleek shape, revolutionizes the shovel blade with a more effective and easier to use blade and cutting edge.
It features an added top blade that works in tandem with the bottom blade to control the quantity and weight of the content that one lifts when shoveling or moving materials. This means consistent loads and enhanced efficiency for the user. Better yet, it limits the amount of force that one places on the back when lifting loads, therefore reducing risk of injury.
The Stealth Shovel is a 2015 Red Dot Award winner.

Guy Turned a Garden Shovel into a One-string Electric Guitar
We’ve seen all kinds of homemade guitars around here, but I don’t think we have ever seen a shovel turned into a guitar before. Check out this this video of musician Rob Scallon as he actually rocks out with his Shovelcaster.
Rob’s pal from How to Make Stuff modified an average shovel into a one-string electric guitar. You’ll be surprised by the sound that Rob is able to get out of this thing. It isn’t what you would think. It sounds pretty awesome. Really awesome in fact. It will blow you away. So if you ever find yourself in need of a guitar and all you have is a shovel, you too can rock out.
Now what about other garden tools? I hope we see a hoe guitar too. Can you dig it man? I can dig it!

Breaking the ice
Water is confusing. Can’t make up its mind, whether it wants to be ice or snow. Either way, you got to break your back shoveling your sidewalk. Luckily, the Ice Breaking Shovel is a nifty multi-tool, because frozen water can be such a double-sided affair. Use it either as an ice cracking tool, or an ice shoveling tool. The power is yours!

Crovel Extreme II Ready for More Zombie Killin’
Way back in 2011 I wrote a little story about a product that was perfect for surviving a zombie horde called the Crovel. That story set off a tirade by several folks about what was the perfect tool for zombie killing and what wasn’t. I still think that Crovel belongs in the backpack of any zombie killer. A new version of that cool tool is now available at ThinkGeek.
The new tool is called the Crovel Extreme II, and its more extreme-e-er than the original. The little folding beast still digs thanks to a folding shovel head. It also has a serrated edge for cutting trees and zombie skulls. It even has a bottle opener to ensure you can enjoy that last Corona if you run across one. After all, zombie killing works up a mean thirst.
The handle of the Crovel Extreme II is wrapped in 15-feet of 550 paracord and it has a crow bar on one end. That will come in handy for things like ripping open doors and crushing zombie skulls. My favorite part is the optional metal spike on the end perfect for punching through the eyes of the undead (as well as ice, rocks and drywall.)
The Crovel Extreme II sells for $139.99(USD), with the spike adding another $29.99, and an optional carrying bag for $42.99.
Wheeled Snow Shovel Looks Like a Winner
Check out this wheeled snow shovel design. It looks like it will allow you to shovel your driveway in record time and with ease. This has got to be better for your back than a standard snow shovel.
The Snow Wolf SW0310 Wheeled Snow Shovel (aka the “Snow Wovel”) has a sturdy wheel built right into the frame, so you’ll be able to scoop up large amounts of snow with minimal effort, and greater efficiency. It is the snow shovel of the future, but it is available today. In fact, it’s been available for several years – no time travel required.
Its makers claim it clears snow three times faster than conventional snow shovels. It sells for $139(USD) from Amazon, which also means it costs more than three times the price of conventional snow shovels.
What do you think? Has anyone tried one of these? Are they as great as they look?

Alas, An Ergonomic Shovel
While working in his parents backyard, Bosse Tools founder Stephen Walden labored through hours of back & arm strain & thought there had to be a better way! He decided to combine the traditional shovel with the ease of use found in a hedge trimmer. The result is a tool that improves posture, reduces back strain, relieves wrist pain, & minimizes shoulder injury. All thanks to the addition of a revolutionary rotating center handle. Check it out & pre-order your’s here because this concept is soon to be a reality!

Guy Makes AK-47 from Old Shovel
If you have an old rusty shovel lying around, but really would prefer to have a gun, just do what this guy did and make an AK-47 out of the hole-digger.
So, just how do you turn an old shovel into an assault rifle? Well, Boris melted down the metal shovel head and reforged it into the actual gun receiver. The result is a beautiful handmade gun that looks like it belongs in the game Fallout. We aren’t sure why he did it. There was probably alcohol involved.
I’d like to see what he can do with a garden hoe and a post-hole-digger. He would probably make a a kick-butt LMG or combat shotgun.
