This special built-in UV-C Sterilizer sanitizes your cleaning tools

Sterilizer 2022 Built-in Ultrasonic Cleaner UV-C 7

When the pandemic happened, many people suddenly became more conscious about their health. Alongside this health and fitness awareness is consciousness about the cleanliness of one’s surroundings.

UV-C has become a proven way to sterilize surfaces and personal stuff in the past two years. Sales for such sterilizers have gone up, and now they come in different forms and sizes. The Sterilizer 2022 is yet another concept product that brands can probably consider bringing into production.

Designer: Woojin Heo

Sterilizer 2022 Built-in Ultrasonic Cleaner UV-C 6

Korean designer Woojin Heo has shared his design for a cleaning system. It’s not exactly a personal sterilizer, but it is meant for cleaning tools you usually use at home. The goal was to develop a sterilizer for those standard cleaning tools we utilize every day. Sterilizing your cleaning tools is important to prevent contamination and bacterial growth.

Sanitization of every corner of the house is a must, especially during this pandemic. The virus still lurks so we must be careful with the things we handle or touch. A sterilizer can give people peace of mind, especially those who are very particular about cleanliness.

Sterilizer 2022 Built-in Ultrasonic Cleaner UV-C Details

The Sterilizer 2022 is a built-in Ultrasonic cleaner that sanitizes with UV-C. The idea of double cleansing is nothing new. However, you really need to clean those items you use to clean. Obviously, they can get dirty and be full of germs, especially those brushes used on the toilet.

Washing the cleaning tools with soap and hot water may not be enough. Some dip them in water with vinegar or baking soda, but they may still not be enough as bacteria don’t get killed easily. Only UV can kill most germs, so the designer came up with something that will make things sanitary and hygienic for everyone at home.

Sterilizer 2022 Built-in Ultrasonic Cleaner UV-C DESIGN

The sterilizing system is built into the wall. You can have it installed inside the bathroom or in your mudroom or laundry room. It’s also a way to keep the cleaning tools organized.

To make things easy to access, the design features a tilted system. The main ultrasonic sterilization container inside is a cylinder where you can insert a conventional cleaning brush. The system can be controlled via an interface outside of the product.

The whole cleaning system is concealed but is easily accessible. An opening tilts to reveal the cleaning system inside. On top of the sterilization, the container is a water pipe. It is filled automatically, so cleaning can be continuous. The system utilizes ultrasonic cleaning to ensure any germs, bacteria, or foreign substance attached to the brush or plunger is removed. The second level of cleaning is done through UV-C sterilization.

This tiny travel-friendly plug-in air purifier can deodorize an entire room… and it’s just as small as your iPhone

Relying on Hydroxyl and Plasma purification technology, the ridiculously tiny RAYCONO gives you fresh deodorized air that’s been purged of bacteria, VOCs, and other stuff you don’t want in the air… and unlike your bulky, boxy air-purifier or expensive HVAC system, the RAYCONO is about the shape and size of a power bank.

Designer: Dr. Angel Porgador

The air purifier + deodorizer was originally envisioned for pet-owners, although it works just as easily in regular homes, kitchens, offices, basements, smoking rooms – basically anywhere plagued by strong odors and bad air quality. Designed to be tiny yet efficient, the RAYCONO relies on two cutting-edge technologies to help improve air quality and freshness – Hydroxyl technology, and Plasma purification.

The two technologies work in tandem to help destroy microorganisms and organic compounds that make air unhealthy and smell bad. Hydroxyl technology emits oxidizing ions that travel in the air and target bacteria on any surface. The ions target the hydrogen within the bacteria and attach OH ions to them, turning them into water vapor molecules while killing the bacteria. The plasma technology, on the other hand, uses a plasma chamber concealed within the RAYCONO to purify the air by breaking apart microorganisms using plasma. An internal sponge helps trap these microorganisms and particles too, and can easily be rinsed in water and reused.

What are probably the most interesting aspects of these two technologies is that they’re A. Maintenance-free (they don’t use filters that need replacing or constant cleaning/maintaining), B. Compact (allowing the RAYCONO to be such a discreet little appliance), and C. Pet-friendly (purifying the air and making them clean for both humans as well as pets and plants).

The underlying technology was developed by RAYCONO’s team of scientists in collaboration with leading immunologist Dr. Angel Porgador, President of Israel’s Immunological Society and the Dean of Faculty of Health at Israel’s Ben Gurion University, who helped test, improve, and certify the purifier’s performance and results.

RAYCONO’s design team highlight how the Hydroxyl + Plasma purification system allows the RAYCONO to be as compact as it is, while performing as effectively as domestic purifiers up to 100 times its size. The underlying technology eliminates the need for any replaceable HEPA filters, or powerful fans that are necessary to purify air in large rooms. Instead, the RAYCONO’s purification works both internally as well as externally. While the internal Plasma Chamber helps neutralize microorganisms, the Hydroxyl Air Sterilizer emits OH radicals that freely roam in the air, finding and neutralizing bad odors and bacteria no matter where they are. In short, the purification doesn’t just happen inside the RAYCONO, it happens outside it too.

Ultimately, the RAYCONO’s biggest pitch is its convenience. All you really need to do is plug it into the nearest outlet and it gets to work. The results become apparent as the tiny device effectively deodorizes the entire room, and you can easily carry your RAYCONO to any room you want or even travel with it (thanks to the international plug adapters that come along with the purifier). It works especially well in rooms with bad odors, be it from pets, smoke, food, chemicals, or odors from your neighborhood.

Understandably, the use of plasma filtration raises some concerns, although RAYCONO’s research team mentions that the device’s plasma concentration and ozone emission is absolutely negligible, making it incredibly safe to use around humans, children, and even pets.

The RAYCONO is a compact little air sterilizer/purifier/deodorizer that measures roughly the same as your power-bank, operates rather quietly too, with a noise output of less than 50db (that’s about as loud as your refrigerator). The device has a low power consumption too with a rating of just 3W (that’s about 5-10% of what a regular air purifier consumes), helping you improve your air quality without impacting your electricity bill. Each RAYCONO ships with a user manual and an AC plug adapter for your country/continent. You can currently get your RAYCONO at a 40% early-bird discount on Kickstarter, for just $59. The product begins shipping in November this year.

This UVC sterilizer + touch stylus is the COVID age’s latest go-to everyday carry!

Cell phone? Check. Wallet? Check. Masks? Check, check. UVC sterilizer? Check. Nowadays, leaving the house is synonymous with being prepared to ward off any prospective germs outside. Adopting more hygienic practices after entering your home and while outside has become the norm in today’s world and designers are quickly catching on to it. Bringing their design into the mix, Hyeri Lee recently created a touch stylus with an integrated UVC sterilizer in collaboration with SAQ Design called Keepstick.

Keepstick works like any stylus might, albeit slightly thicker than the average stylus, granting users the ability to do daily activities like push elevator buttons, make credit card payments, or even use their smartphone without having to touch any of the items’ physical surfaces. UVC light is able to sterilize contaminated surfaces by using Ultraviolet-C radiation to break down certain chemical bonds that allow microorganisms to multiply. With this in mind, Keepstick not only keeps your fingers away from collecting germs from any given surface but also allows you to sterilize handheld items like your smartphone, wallet, and keys.

Keepstick comes with its own plastic box where users can store items to be sterilized. By attaching the Keepstick’s UVC light feature onto the box, Ultraviolet-C rays spread over the item inside the box to break down the chemical bonds that could contain germs or viral bacteria. Even your disposable masks can be worn more than once they’ve been sterilized by Keepstick. The UVC sterilizer touch stick is also compatible with USB-C charging ports so it can always be charged up before walking out the front door.

Designer: Hyeri Lee x SAQ Design

Keepstick was designed to supplement other means for germ-fighting like hand sanitizer.

Through plenty of ideations, Keepstick finally assumed the form of a compact, thick stylus that opens up to a UVC sterilizer.

Once detached, Keepstick transforms from your regular touch stylus to a UVC sterilizer.

Ultraviolet-C radiation breaks down certain chemical bonds that allow microorganisms to multiply.

Hyeri Lee equipped Keepstick with the ability to be worn around the neck for easy carrying.

Detach Keepstick to sterilize disposable items such as gloves and masks.

A smart sanitizer for your phone +hand is a must have for every home entryway!

Hygiene in the age of COVID-19 has become instinctual for many of us. Once we get home, before even removing our masks, we’re folded over the bathroom sink, hands sudsy with soap, counting down from thirty. We graze the sink’s faucet with unwashed fingers and send that one text without sanitizing our touchscreens. Of course, when it comes to hygiene routines, no one can be perfect – especially during a global pandemic. That’s okay – it’s the reason sanitizing products exist and the catalyst for ZERO from Jung Yu Jung with Design Dot, a design team based in Seoul, South Korea. Conceptualized to resemble the view of the moon from behind rows of window shutters, this home sanitizing station makes it that much easier to stay on top of both our own and our home hygiene.

ZERO is a smart sterilization product that can mount from any wall and direction. Its accurate and responsive dispenser not only motion-detects and sanitizes your hands with six UV-C LED chips, but it also includes a smartphone sterilizer. Based on the honest need for home sanitizing technology, Jung Yi Jung created the product with human instinct in mind. From each angle, the product is pleasantly inconspicuous and elegant. Upon first glance, the sterilizer appears like any unassuming and ordinary home appliance. However, along the rim of the device, a rectangular slot reveals a supplementary sanitizer that swallows your phone for a good ole’ UV-C LED cleaning. Its stainless steel construction increases light reflection and sterilizes your phone for safe use before coughing it back up. In order to enhance the product’s intuitive design, you’ll find only four buttons: two sound control switches for programmed signals, an adjustive mood light, and a power button. Additionally, ZERO charges with a type-c cable, a common mobile phone charging port, delivering seamless setup and service.

Around the world, we’re taking big strides towards a generally health-conscious future, specifically in regard to home design and technology. Home is our oasis, our clean corner of the world we want to keep that way. Intuitive design and practical function from ZERO offers an idea of what a healthier, more human future could look like, in your own clean corner of the world.

Super Clean Food

Tabii is a food sterilizing and washing unit that gives storage life with a drying option. The focus of the project is to come up with solution to combat future water shortages and the ‘Turkish habit’ of food drying. Hence the unit works as a sterilizing, washing, drying, and dehydrating appliance.

How it Works:

Tabii washes the fruit and vegetables by the ionized water for total sterilization with minimum water usage. Ionized water kills more than 99.9% of harmful germs by oxygenated mixture of positively and negatively charged nano-bubles. The appliance makes it possible to choose consecutive processes like ‘wash and dry’ or ‘wash and dehydrate’. Drying and dehydration is achieved using ultrasound technology. Ultrasound dehydration permits the removal of moisture content from solids without producing a liquid phase change. Unlike the conventional dehydration methods based on hot-air drying, it cannot deteriorate the quality of the final product.
