Super Mario Run Finally Available on Android

Super Mario Run arrived first for iOS, and Android users were not too happy about having to wait so long. At this point, the hype has died down and people have generally moved on to other things. Nevertheless, the game is on Android now, if anyone is still interested.

You can download Super Mario Run from the Google Play store, where Nintendo released the game a day earlier than expected. They probably should have released it a month early, but what can you do? Think of the money that Nintendo missed out on. Just like the iOS version, the full game is $10(USD).

Super Mario Run Gets Android Release Date, Sorta.

If you are one of the many Android gamers who was not happy with Nintendo for putting Super Mario Run out as an iOS exclusive to start, your day is coming. Nintendo has announced that the single-finger platformer will land on Android devices this March.

That isn’t an exact launch date, but it is better than the “coming soon” date that we heard back in December. You can pre-register for the game on Google Play and get a notification when the game launches if you want.

It’s not been made clear, but I will assume the game will cost the same $10 on Android that it did on iOS if you want to fully unlock the game. The first few levels are free if you aren’t inclined to drop that much money on a mobile game.

Super Mario Run Sprinting to Android Soon

While iOS gamers are already playing Super Mario Run (and complaining about the $10 price tag,) Android gamers are sitting there just wanting to play the game. While the game still isn’t available for Android users, you can now pre-register your interest over on Google Play.

Pre-registering will send you an alert on your device when the game is ready to download. There is no indication of just when that availability date might be. If it wasn’t soon, I can’t see why Nintendo would be doing the pre-register offer already.

The Android version of the game will be just like the iOS versions. That means you start out World Tour Mode with only three worlds unless you buy the game. I would assume the same $10 price tag for Android.

Super Mario Run iOS Release Date Announced

It’s been a while since we’ve had a new Mario game, so fans are happy that Super Mario Run is on the way. A few months back, Apple and Nintendo revealed that Mario would finally be making his way to iOS devices with the new game.

Now we have an exact release date: December 15th, 2016. On that day, the game will be available to play on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. You can download it for free, but you’ll only be able to play parts of the game’s three modes without paying more. If you want to unlock the full game, you’ll have to pay $10(USD). This freemium approach is a slight departure from the earlier announcement that there would be no in-game purchases – though it’s not a bad price for a complete Mario game.

Super Mario Run will be available in 151 countries and in 10 languages including English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese. So, basically Mario is doing a world tour.

Android users will get a chance to play the mobile game at some point too. We just don’t know when right now.
