With single-piece fiberglass shell, Bean Stock 2.0 is most capable ultralightweight off-road teardrop trailer

Teardrop trailers have their own drive and dwelling convenience on the road. This is distinguishable from other forms of camping solutions for their size, weight, and price. There are a number of lightweight teardrop trailers adventurers have been using to their advantage but not many have the grit to go off the paved roads with equal expediency. Presenting a light and robust solution for the needs is the new Bean Stock 2.0.

Designed by Bean Trailers, founded in 2016 by Mark and Brian, who have been designing trailers with durability and minimalism in mind, the Bean Stock 2.0 is another rugged and lightweight teardrop trailer that can take the habitants to pretty much anywhere they desire.

Designer: Ben Trailers

I said there are three primary advantages that teardrop trailers carry over the other camping rigs, and the Bean Stock 2.0 fits the bill with its fiberglass body that renders the tiny trailer lightweight at 1,175 lbs. The construction ensures the trailer is fundamentally affordable in its stock variant yet its ruggedness makes it a capable off-roader. How is that possible is discussed further in the article.

The teardrop has a one-piece fiberglass shell with composite honeycomb side walls, while the former is not customary, the latter is a prerequisite in Bean Trailers’ models. Bean Stock 2.0 given the solid, lightweight design is built for the toughest and roughest trails. To that accord, the structure is slimmer and capable of being towed behind any small SUVs like the Subaru Forester, Ford Escape and similar.

The stock model of Bean Stock 2.0 is off-road ready with 2,000-pound HD suspension and 15-inch wheels. But it is the customizable option that allows    3,500-pound suspension and bigger tires with more ground clearance that add to the off-track capability. All the features are nothing without the interiors you want to be in after a long day’s drive. The Stock 2.0 is equally fashioned inside also, which absolutely revolves around the 60-inch x 80-inch queen-sized mattress facing a wide window filling the living space with natural light during the day, the warm-tone recessed lighting keeps the ambiance lifted after the sun goes down.

For all its wonderful features and interesting design, the Bean Stock 2.0 is available in a choice of 18 different colors. The entry-level variant of the rugged teardrop trailer starts at $15,999 and the customizable option with all add-ons onboard spikes the price to over the $20,000 mark.

Colorado Teardrops’ EC models are for adventurers who want to experience fully electrified camping experience

Colorado Teardrops has been in the league of builders’ head bent on providing mini camping solutions with electric power in-charge. After the family-oriented Boulder, the Colorado company has outed a pair of patent-pending teardrop camping trailers called Electric Classic that call out to both EV and non-EV owners.

Designed in two variants, essential for those looking to extend camping trips in the outdoors, the teardrop trailers provide additional off-grid energy to power equipment and devices on board, or juice up your electric vehicle on the journey back home.

Designer: Colorado Teardrops

The chief advantage of the Electric Classics models is the amount of power available. The EC models – EC-2 and EC-4 – come integrated with battery systems, providing 19 kWh to 38 kWh of battery power, to use while camping or as whole-home battery when not camping. Putting that to prospective, the company notes – with up to 38 kWh of battery power – the trailer can power an average US home for over a day.

Coming to the two different models, the EC-2 is a two-person teardrop trailer while EC-4, on that notion, is a larger 4-person model. Both are inspired by the previous bestsellers from the brand and are constructed using welded structural aircraft aluminum. The triple-insulated construction renders the trailers durable and lightweight, while the protection on the bottom of the cabin protects and seals them against the elements.

The interior of the Colorado Teardrop’s EC-2 and EC-4 are free from plastic in the walls, cabinetry, and shelving, however, have been made warm and comfortable for the inhabitants. For this, the teardrops feature maple or hardwood laminates and have insulated doors with sliding windows that open up the interiors to the great outdoors, while keeping the camping trailer tightly sealed otherwise.

On the outside, the trailer tongue box offers additional storage and accommodates the electrical components. Interestingly, the Colorado Teardrops’ EC models are not for everyone: The two-person EC-2 starts at $44,000 and the four-person EC-4 base model is priced at $50,400. An upgrade to a 38 kWh battery pack will set up back an additional $11,000.

Colorado company’s family teardrop trailer is a power bank for your EV

If you build your dreams on wheels, the Boulder should be your trailer of choice on the next outing to a National Park. A four-person teardrop trailer for EVs, the Boulder is more than a comfortable tow-in camper for sleeping: It is also a power backup for your EV.

Designed and manufactured by Colorado Teardrops, the Boulder is specifically made with the unpredictable native weather in mind. It packs within its welded aircraft aluminum body a 75kWh battery that can extend the driving range of your towing EV and take care of the power requirements at the camp.

Designer: Colorado Teardrops

The Boulder is a fully insulated cabin stretching 12 feet in length. It has been meticulously designed to accommodate a couple and two children: has a queen size bed and two bunk beds for kids. Aerodynamically made, the trailer is fashioned with porthole windows, gullwing doors, and a kitchen galley to prepare sumptuous meals when camped.

The construction ensures plenty of natural light inside the cozy interiors laid out with ample storage to pack your favorite gear along. With a 3,500-pound rated suspension, the trailer makes space for storage on the outside as well. The retractable exterior kitchen of the camping trailer for instance accommodates a stove, food storage and has room for coolers and water.

To keep the adventure going longer than planned, the EV camping trailer kicks in extra dose of power to recharge your electric vehicle if need be. For onboard power needs, Orlando Teardrop provides the trailer with solar panels. The company, fascinated by the idea of an impactful EV trailer is likely working on 17- and 27-foot options for the Boulder in the future. Fitted with an outdoor shower, the Boulder in its 12-foot setting – for now – starts at $67,000.

CAMP with Alpha Rex off-roading electric SUV at heart is the ultimate campsite we’d want

California-based electric vehicle start-up Alpha Motor Corporation has (since its inception in 2020) showcased a slew of slick-looking renders for the world crowded with adventure seekers. The latest addition is an integrated setup for the Overlanding and camping experience the company calls Collaborative Adventure Mobility Platform (CAMP).

The setup you see appears incredibly devised for the outdoorsy and many wouldn’t think twice before divulging their interest in it. But if you’re an inquisitive one; you will take heart in the fact that the CAMP setup is based on the company’s highly modified version of the Alpha Rex off-roading vehicle, which has a teardrop trailer in tow to facilitate a home-like experience in the great outdoors.

Designer: Alpha Motor Corporation

The retro-futuristic site in itself; the CAMP is a modified setup for a complete motorhome experience. The back of the SUV has been removed to create space for a triangular bed bar. The Rex’s roof has a carrier while the teardrop has a pop-up rooftop tent. The Rex itself is powered by a dual-motor powertrain, and has a range of up to 275 miles.

The off-roader’s capability as a camper is diversified by the various features provided along with. Some of these viable ones include the grille set, a foldable camping dining set, and a yurt with textile walls matching the rooftop tent which houses a king-size platform bed. CAMP setup for now is a special collaborative project, available only in rentals. Alpha Motors Corporation has no intentions of marketing the perfected version of this computer-generated vision of an effective, all-in-one campsite.

Inspired by mid-century modern architecture, the SkyView boasts a modern shape with a commitment to the best utilization of space. So, within a 143-in x 76-in space you get a well-designed and spaciously crafted living/sleeping area for two people. This towable XL camper comes with roomy and bright interiors to give you a comfortable outdoor experience!

Lightweight, modern teardrop trailers hit the market very frequently these days. Despite that, there is always scope for something like the Droplet XL, an insulated, spacious and naturally well-lit camper for weekend RVers, urban dwellers, and pro campers alike.

After entering the market with Droplet 58, a small trailer with a big impact, the trailer manufacturer is back with the next version called the Droplet XL. This is a bright and modern insulated trailer with a queen-size bed and a fully equipped kitchen. Based on a powder-coated steel chassis, the trailer is made from a wood-fiber frame overlaid by aluminum composite skin and in between the two layers is the closed-cell foam for insulation.

Droplet campers are ergonomic and reliable. The Droplet XL also thrives on this image in a lightweight form factor, which can be towed by any RV. This cool feature means people who do not have a larger truck or towing vehicles – such as the city dwellers – can also haul this teardrop trailer behind their cars for a weekend off-site or a slightly longer adventure trip. What sets the new model apart from the premier iteration is its high focus space, larger panoramic windows and skylights, and extensive storage to keep all the camping gear out of sight and completely safe.

For those keeping a record; the Droplet XL weighs just over 1,000 pounds and measures 9.5 feet in length. The longer flatbed means there is more storage capacity between the kitchen and the sleeping area. The latter houses a queen-size mattress and is spacious enough to sleep a couple. With the generous use of panoramic windows and skylights, the roomy bedding seems even more spacious. The trailer has a fully functioning kitchen with a shelf for cooking and a large fridge to keep your beer chill and packaged food from rotting.

In spite of its name, Droplet XL is pretty tiny. Owning to its compactness, one can count it off for being any good on roads less traveled. Surprisingly, with its 13-inch wheels, the trailer is pretty stable for off-road rides into the wilderness. Ideal for all types of small distance, long trip and family adventurers, the teardrop trailer features LED lighting and USB charging ports. The Droplet XL retails for $16,950 and can be customized with a battery pack, awning and shower for slightly extra.

This trailer gives the traditional bean design an upgrade for more comfortable off-road adventures!

How many of us this year have felt the need to just pack up and live off-the-grid thanks to our new remote lifestyles? Well, I found you something that will make your dreams come true – meet Black Bean! This teardrop trailer is a limited edition design by a USA-based company and they have upgraded the traditional trailers for a comfortable off-road adventure.

The project takes shape as an upgraded gateway cabin covering more of the users’ demands than the previous series. This travel trailer provides more functionality including higher ground clearance, galley accessibility, more electrical power, and plenty of storage while offering a cozy interior design. Despite its name, the model comes in different colors, including light and basalt gray, white, olive green, black, or any custom color.

‘Blank Bean’ by bean trailer provides a very similar cabinet design to the previous trailers, but more capability for those who desire all-terrain adventures. The new model includes a bigger stove that slides in and out, a larger fridge with an ice-maker option, more countertop space, and a deeper sink with a set-in cutting board. Meanwhile, cooking outside is possible as the stove can be rotated and covered by the back door.

As for the interior, according to the customer’s request for more ‘warmth’, the designers have added some laminate options. A ceiling slat option clads the entire roof adding extra coziness to the cabin. Here, the designers attached more storage space including large upper drawers, as well as a surrounding cushion option, to facilitate the users’ accommodation.

The trailer has a newly designed fender with a stand-on capability, serving also as a step to reach the roof, where one can put a pop-up tent for extra sleeping space. Moreover, ‘black bean’ consists of a propane tank, a 68-liter fresh water tank, and an outdoor shower system with a water heater. A curved light leaf solar panel over the front window contributes additional backup in terms of charging up the batteries while protecting the windows from stones and debris.

Domino off-road trailer transitions from travel to camp mode on the push of a button

Australian families are catching up to the idea of outdoor adventures with a bespoke camper trailer tagged behind their trucks. Designed for the outdoorsy Aussies, to accommodate an Australian outback, the Offline Campers’ dual-mode off-road camper trailer called the Domino is built on a similar bed as the company’s previous Raker model. The Domino is perfect for small family adventures owing to the trailer’s generous internal + extendable space and quick transition from a day ride to a comfy night sleeper.

Packed with almost everything your family would need on the road, the Offline Campers’ Domino is ruggedized and conceived in the shape of a teardrop trailer. That said, it has more to it than just being a random trailer. It is the brand’s first hard-roofed interior camper with jaw-like rear doors and dual-mode functionality. During the day, Domino rides in the travel mode, and by night, just open its jaws and instantly transport yourself onto the comfy queen-sized mattress (don’t forget to shut the jaws from within) in camp mode.

When you demand some extra space, the Domino allows you to deploy an electric-powered annex tent at the push of a button. Once deployed, it opens up additional two meters of space (with the support of a few tent poles) and still lets you access the bed and the storage underneath it without any hassle. The living space, complete with the installed extension, offers ample camping are for two adults and a child.

For all the camping fun on the road and at the park, the Domino has a slide-out kitchen complete with a flip-out countertop, three burner stove, cooking utensils, fridge, and a storage compartment on the side. This all-electric off-road teardrop trailer redefines the luxury of your camping experience!

Ones who like to camp, spending an outdoorsy life for the majority of their time – a comfy camping trailer is a way to go. But when a caravan is heightened to an improved level of comfortable and convenient supremacy, the experience is elevated to a whole new level. Of all the campers we’ve seen thus far, the Colorado Campworks NS-1 is a complete package for digital nomads who settle for nothing but the best. Their design philosophy reflects their motives and aims to make camping better to a degree where it is reinvented.

Thomas Hoffman, a design student at the University of Colorado, managed to work at EarthRoamer (famous overland camper builder) as part of his senior design project after graduation. This polished his overlander skills, and he finally had the confidence to create something of his own – in the process, creating a teardrop trailer startup that now can be deemed as the best camper trailer out there money can buy. The NS-1 (Nomadic Systems 1) was in the works ever since his design project at the university, and once Hoffman was confident about his skills, the project finally saw fruition. This all-electric rugged camper runs solely on solar power with the ability to power the onboard electronics and appliances, including cabin heater, kitchen, lights, and more. That’s achieved with the roof-mounted 200-W solar cells, 200-Ah lithium-iron-phosphate battery, and 3,000-W inverter. Although the teardrop camper is very compact, the occupants won’t find anything missing on the inside.

The trailer on top of the all-terrain wheels is made out of a mono composite shell with insulation from the inside. Keeping in mind the needs of Overlanding adventures, NS-1 can carry anything that’s required – shovel, canisters, surfboard mounts, or bike racks. There’s space for overhead storage and a queen-size mattress that can be rolled up to convert the bed with storage into a dining room for two. For water needs, the trailer comes with a Front Runner awning, a 20-gallon water tank, a water heater, and the convenience of an outdoor shower supplying hot water for a relaxing bath in the serene natural settings.

The electric kitchen can be beefed-up to a chef-level kitchen (for an additional $3,250) that comes with a Traeger smoker, Breville Smart Oven, SnoMaster cooler, and other goodies, along with the basic slide-out kitchen having storage drawers, sink, and electric cooktop. The trailer can also be upgraded with three options – a $2,500 Digital Nomad addition (adding Wi-Fi and charging station), a $6,000 Supercharged package (doubling the battery power), or the $3,000 Four Season package (adding insulation, heated water tank, and the water recirculation capability).

That is on top of the $36,000 price tag of the trailer that sure sounds expensive, but the options it brings to the basic package are also worth noting – not to forget the powder-coated tubular frame and the off-roading capability honed by the Timbren 3500 HD Axle-less suspension, electric drum brakes, and the 15-in wheels are centered inside 285/70R15 BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. For someone already liking the Colorado Campworks NS-1 camper’s prospect, there is also a base model in works that’ll be offered at $20,000.

This Tesla Cybertruck worthy battery-operated trailer promises energy efficiency for electric vehicles!

Hooking a trailer to your petrol or diesel-powered vehicle doesn’t have much effect on your planned journeys, but when an electric car has to tow one, it dramatically affects the range, and you have to find charging stations to juice it up time and again. The current trailers on the market can be a range-killer for your electric vehicle! If you always wanted a camper trailer for your Tesla, specially built for the purpose, your wish is granted! Glendale, California-based Polydrops has been designing trailers for the last four years, and now they’ve come up with a P17A camper that your EV’s going to love. The trailer’s angular design is well-suited for your Tesla Cybertruck, and it is not just about the sharp looks!

P17A trailer comes with floor integrated batteries capable of storing 12kWh of electricity when needed. Much attention has been given to the temperature variation inside the cabin to keep energy requirements down to the minimum. That’s achieved with the true foam-core structure providing insulation of 8.7″ EPS – thereby shunning out the need to use a 5000 BTU air conditioner in summers or an electric heater in chilling winter. Add to that the 520W solar panels on the roof, and you’ve got a trailer that doesn’t suck solely on the battery power of your electric vehicle. On top of that, the whole structure is designed aerodynamically to reduce drag, and the weight is minimized optimally. That improves your electric vehicle’s overall mileage when a trailer is towed behind for the whole trip.

Polydrops has tested the P17A trailer with Tesla Model 3 for long-range mileage on a round trip from Los Angeles to Lone Pine at an average speed of 55-60 mph. The figures looked impressive as the duo managed a 245 miles range on a single charge. Now that is impressive, considering a trailer was tagged along the whole trip to the Tesla Model 3 EV, saving the driver from charging time and again during the trip. On the inside, the trailer is airy and comfy enough for two people – it has all the essential amenities one would demand, ample charging sockets, a king-size mattress, and an optional kitchenette module accessible from the inside as well as outside. The doors on all three sides are gull-winged, so that’s another cool addition to the whole package. It has to be said that if you do want to bet on a trailer for your Tesla or any other EV, you very well put your money on the Polydrops P17A!
