The Last Jedi Gets an Epic 100,000 Piece LEGO Diorama

One of the more memorable scenes in The Last Jedi was The Battle of Crait. Now someone has replicated the scene in LEGO form. That someone must be one of a handful people that actually enjoyed the movie. I know it wasn’t me. Still, this LEGO diorama is awesome. Builder David Hall did a great job on this super detailed diorama.

It took Hall around 13 months to complete this thing since it has over 100,000 LEGO pieces. The scene has a pair of highly-detailed First Order AT-M6s walking toward the resistance’s fortress, two AT-ATs, two TIE Fighters, and some First Order Stormtroopers, all led by Kylo Ren’s shuttle. I may not have liked the movie, but this is a LEGO masterpiece.

Hall did a great job with the broken white salt plain with red ‘soil’ beneath, it looks really good. In fact, all of the details are really nice throughout this scene. The entire structure can broken down into eight smaller sections so that it can be transported easily, which is good because it will be at the BrickFair convention in March in Charlotte, North Carolina if you want to see it for yourself.

Hall has posted some week-by-week build videos on his YouTube channel, which are worth checking out too. Amazing build, David!

The Last Jedi Lightsaber Battle in 16-Bit

Star Wars: The Last Jedi really polarized fans. Whether you loved or hated it, most people would probably agree that there were a few great scenes, like the lightsaber battle in Snoke’s throne room for instance. And like any great Star Wars scene, this one must be translated into 16-bits so we can appreciate it as if it were a classic video game.

This fun clip comes from Mr Sunday Movies, who also brought us The Last Jedi’s final battle in 16-bit animation. I always say that these videos make me want to play Super Nintendo versions of the movie, because those SNES Star Wars games from back in the day were awesome. If you haven’t seen the movie yet for whatever reason, obviously there are spoilers. But really you should have seen this movie by now. It’s a Star Wars movie. And no matter what the naysayers say, at least there’s no Jar-Jar, no Jake Lloyd, and no pod racing.

I guess it won’t be long before we get some 16-Bit videos from the Han Solo movie, which comes out in May. Now someone please deliver a playable version of this game so I can play it.

The Last Jedi’s Finale Recreated as a 16-Bit Video Game

Fans are heavily divided on The Last Jedi, the latest installment of the Star Wars saga. Some fans love it, some hate it. In fact, viewers are evenly split on the topic. At the time of this writing, the movie has a 50% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Half of the fans hate what Rian Johnson has done, while half love it. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, I think we can all agree that Star Wars can be pretty awesome as a video game. You will likely agree once you see the video below. If you still have not seen the movie, this will obviously spoil things, so you have been warned.

Animator John Stratman recreated the final scenes of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in glorious 16 bit style. In other words, it looks just like a Super Nintendo game. These videos always make me wish that modern movies had retro video games that release alongside of them, because I would play them all. This is no exception. Stratman really did an amazing job on this video.

So what do you think? Better than the actual movie? Worse? This video is sure to be the coolest thing you’ve seen all day.

LEGO Star Wars: The Last Jedi Sets Break Cover

Just in time for Force Friday (didn’t we just have May the Fourth?), LEGO has revealed a new assortment of 11 kits for fans of the Star Wars universe. The kits are all based on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and include some brand new vehicle variants and characters – though they’ve been careful not to offer up much in the way of plot spoilers at this point. Though the minifig of Supreme Leader Snoke included with the First Order Star Destroyer definitely looks healthier (and less intimidating) than he looked when we saw him in The Force Awakens.

The Episode VIII LEGO kits include Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter (630 pcs., $79.99), a Resistance Bomber (780 pcs., $109.99), a First Order Heavy Scout Walker (554 pcs., $49.99), a jumbo BB-8 (1106 pcs., $99.99), a First Order Assault Walker (1376 pcs., $149.99), a Resistance Transport Pod (294 pcs., $29.99), and a First Order Star Destroyer (1416 pcs. $159.99).

In addition, we’re getting some sweet character models of an Elite TIE Fighter Pilot (94 pcs., $19.99), Rey (85 pcs., $24.99), an Elite Praetorian Guard (92 pcs., $24.99) – with a sweet dual-bladed, possibly dual-lightsabered weapon, and everyone’s favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca (179 pcs, $34.99) – complete with an awesome LEGO bandolier and bowcaster.

All of the kits will be available starting tomorrow, September 1st. Keep an eye out on the LEGO Shop’s Star Wars page.
