Guy Builds Mad Max Cars for His Toddlers
You know you are a Mad Max fan when you start building apocalyptic cars for your toddlers. That’s what Ian Pfaff, of Glendale, California did. And they are super cool mini cars that are hopefully battle-ready.
You see, Ian has a two-year-old daughter named Junior and an infant son named Benji. Being a huge fan of the franchise, but didn’t get to see Mad Max: Fury Road on its opening day. But there was a good reason he missed it. It was because Junior had just been born the day before.
No worries. He is turning them on to Mad Max in the best way possible. He took two Cozy Coupes and modded them Fury Road style. Now they can hit the road and do battle across the suburban wasteland.

Toddler Sings Imperial March Theme in Her Crib
You know you are doing parenting right when your kid knows how to sing the Imperial March. The Force is strong in this child.
Jonathan Liu is a father and GeekDad senior editor. He recently captured baby monitor footage of his two and a half year old daughter singing the ominous Imperial theme song from Star Wars while chilling in her crib.
It’s never too early to get them started on Star Wars. Then again, this might be how Anakin really got started. Watch this kid close. And get her into training with Master Yoda as soon as possible.

Build-a-bear’s new store concept wants you to choose, love, stuff and fluff with high-tech (video)
If little Johnny thought Build-a-Bear had nothing for his tech-savvy toddler sensibilities, he'd better think again. The plush toy-seller has just launched a new high-tech store concept that it hopes will help re-engage children otherwise distracted with tablets, phones and game consoles. The new additions include a 55-inch interactive digital sign out front, with touchscreen and Kinect functionality, complete with unlockable content via barcodes. Once inside, four Samsung SUR40 smart tables loaded with custom software offer a range of different parts of the teddy-making process, as well as interact with the toys in real-time -- like a virtual bubble bath -- thanks to a purpose-built tagging system. The sound side of things also gets a lick of paint, with six audio "zones" created, using ultrasonic speakers that can target sound to specific parts of the store and stop all the collective noise from reverberating like something from a bad dream. The first such shop is already open in St Louis, with five more locations to follow: Pleasanton CA, Annapolis MD, Troy MI, Fairfax VA and Indianapolis IN between October and November.

I’m no longer surprised to see toddlers playing with iPads and iPhones, but I have to say that I’d rather have them playing with something that’s actually made for them, kind of like the Vinci Tab II tablet.
When the first Vinci Tab was announced, the MSRP was $389 (USD). That was somewhat steep, but thankfully the newer version is significantly cheaper and sports some improvements. It’s certified child-safe, and comes with a 7-inch screen that has a resolution of 800 × 400. It’s got a 3MP camera, 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD slot, and it runs on Android. In default mode, the Android interface is locked down, but in “Parent Mode” it works just like any other Android tablet – though Vinci doesn’t indicate what version of the OS the tablet runs. But you’re not buying this thing on specs, you’re buying it so your kid doesn’t destroy your iPad, right?
The Vinci Tab II is making its way to retailers next month, but you can already purchase it online. The $249 model has Wi-Fi while the $199 does not. The tablet comes preinstalled with introductory educational software for your child including sample games and animated storybooks, though you’ll have to pay to download additional content if you want to go beyond the sample curriculum.
