If you want to guarantee your next cake will get the thumbs up, just bake it right into the shape of a thumbs up. We spotted this Thumbs Up “LIKE” Cake Mold at the 2013 Toy Fair. It’s a silicone cake pan so you can also use it to make things like Jello, giant chocolates, and ice blocks. This cake mold is produced by the great folks at Big Mouth Toys who are wholesale only but look for it for sale at your favorite gadget and novelty shops very soon.

Marvel Science Transforming Hulk
We took a tour of Uncle Milton‘s latest offerings at this year’s Toy Fair and they’ve expanded into a Marvel Comics Science line for 2013. This is the Transforming Hulk toy. You put the tiny Hulk in his cage into a container of water. The Hulk expands to 4 times his original size and in doing so busts out of his underwater vault. Pretty cool- obviously expand-in-water toys have existed for years but the vault part is a unique twist on the classic. You can wring out the figure and reuse him (the vault is single use however). Look for it in stores later this year.
Lego Build-On Brick Mug
We spotted this fun mug at the 2013 Toy Fair yesterday. It’s the Build-On Brick Mug, compatible with Lego and other similar blocks (not included). Whatever you’re feeling for the day, stick on Lego pieces and figures to match your mood. Would be fun to rearrange the pieces during a boring meeting instead paying attention. BPA-free. Not microwavable unless you like melted plastic (and who doesn’t?) Fun mug.
Domo Goes to College
Domo Kun! The iconic Japanese character is going to college. In this case he’s getting lucky at the University of Kentucky (go Wildcats) but also most other major schools as well. We spotted these new licensing agreement at the 2013 Toy Fair- Domo with shirts. Why not? Domo is also joining the NHL along with his buddy Sock Monkey. No word on whether or not the giant 4 foot Domo shown will be available.
iTap Phone Charging Faucet
Thumbs Up was showing off their latest gadget at New York Toy Fair 2013, the iTap. This little charger looks like a faucet but actually plugs right into any outlet. From the “tap” comes a wire to charge up your iPhone. Let the electricity flow like water! Pretty clever wall charger, and highly appropriate for those who charge their phone in the bathroom anyway (me). Keep an eye out, it should be released in the next few months- it’s not even on their website yet.
Inflatable Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle iPad Holding Car
We spotted this cool inflatable at the 2013 Toy Fair today. CTA Digital (of iPad Potty fame!) was showing off this really sweet Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Inflatable Sports Car for iPad. It’s a little car with an adjustable steering wheel that holds an iPad. Great for racing games or just having a cool spot to use your iPad. And it’s not just for kids- it can hold 200+ pounds (I did not sit on it- had a big lunch). Also available in SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer.
