All Work and No Play Makes Vinyl Jack a Dull Boy

The first time I saw The Shining, I was super creeped out by Jack Nicholson. It didn’t help that I was about the same age as the kid in the flick, despite the film having an “R” rating. My only solace is that I was able to torment my brother by crooking my finger and chasing him around the house screaming “REDRUM!”

Fans of the Kubrick classic horror, or those who just collect cool toys will want Funko’s Jack Torrance 5-Star vinyl figure. It has a cartoonish look to it, with Jack having a little blood on his scalp, and a suitably maniacal look in his eyes.

It comes complete with an ax for busting through bathroom doors and a typewriter that’s perfect for working out his writer’s block. Naturally, the sheet of paper sticking out has only one sentence written on it over and over… ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY.

The figure can be pre-ordered now for $10.99 and will ship starting this September from Entertainment Earth.

Bunny Rabbit + Sriracha = Sketracha Dunny

I love collecting vinyl toys, and I love the sweet and spicy flavor of sriracha. So when I saw this toy, I knew I had to add one to my collection.

Designed by artist SKET ONE, the Sketracha Dunny is part of KidRobot’s wildly successful series of bunny rabbit style characters, and looks like a bottle of delicious hot sauce, embellished with the iconic rooster logo and green lid. They’re being sold as a blind-box “chase” so you might get a red “full” version or a clear “empty” Dunny – though neither is actually filled with sriracha. Both versions come with a pair of chopsticks in its paws.

I remember watching Alien for the first time when I was growing up. That movie scared the crap out of me, but I loved it. The entire Alien franchise remain some of my favorite sci-fi movies. If you are a fan of the series, check this out.

E.T. The Funko-Terrestrial

Back in the day, E.T. was a fun feel-good movie that gave us hope that aliens could be friendly and cute. It had all the feels. Now you can relive those feels with Funko’s latest offerings as they delve into the world of The ExtraTerrestrial.

Is there any property that Funko hasn’t made figures of yet? Probably not. Now it is time for them to offer us some characters from the classic 1982 Steven Spielberg film. You can get E.T., Elliot, and Gertie. All are available for pre-order and will ship later this month.

Elliot even comes with a bag of Reese’s Pieces. Now all we need is the right size bike with a basket and then you can really display these figures in style.
